Kulbyte focused on Nepal

Tashkent: Uzbekistan head coach Kotryna Kulbyte praised her team’s commanding 7-0 victory against Laos in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ Qualifiers Group F match on Wednesday.

The result keeps Uzbekistan firmly in contention, as they sit level on points with Nepal ahead of their decisive group game on Saturday.

“Congratulations to the team for the victory. A 7-0 result is a fantastic achievement, and it puts us in a good position in the group,” Kulbyte said. “We’re now level on points and goal difference with Nepal, so everything is equal going into the final match.

“We will need to check the yellow card situation, but regardless, our approach to the third game will be the same, we’re going out to win.”

Uzbekistan began their campaign with a resounding 10-0 victory over Sri Lanka with Nilufar Kudratova finding the net four times and Diyorakhon Khabibullaeva scoring a hat-trick.

Wednesday’s 7-0 scoreline against Laos further underlined Kulbyte’s side’s determined mindset.

“We’ve already analysed Nepal from their last two games.

“We did some of that preparation when we played Laos and now we’ll review their match against Sri Lanka to finalise our game plan and figure out the best way to beat them.”
