Vietnam have booked a 10th successive appearance at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup™, with Vietnam topping Group E of the Qualifiers with a perfect nine points.

Coming off the back of their first ever FIFA Women's World Cup in 2023, Vietnam come into the competition as serious contenders, having consistently moved up the ranks of women's football over the last 15 years.

The colloquially known 'Golden Star Women Warriors' (Những Nữ Chiến Binh Sao Vàng), scored 17 unanswered goals in the qualifiers, their aggressive attacking style, and quick defence proving incredibly effective against their opponents.

Head coach Mai Duc Chung, considered to be the best coach in the history of Vietnamese women's football, indicated that the squad will only improve prior to the AFC Women's Asian Cup™.

"“For this round of qualifying, some Ho Chi Minh City players joined the team late after playing in the AFC Women’s Champions League, while our U20 players couldn’t attend as they are preparing for the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers."

“Hopefully in the next training camp, we’ll have a more complete squad and better readiness – especially in finishing.”
