Perth is the home of the Matildas Sam Kerr and residents are passionate about sport and their sporting teams, the women and men’s A-League teams, Perth Glory. The women’s A-League side is a premiership winner and two-time A-League grand finalist. Perth has also played host to a number of men’s and women’s football internationals including the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and several Matildas qualifying and friendly matches.

Hosting the opening ceremony match on Sunday 1 March 2026, featuring the Matildas, and a semi-final on Tuesday 17 March 2026.
Stadium Australia, otherwise known as Accor Stadium, is Australia’s largest rectangular stadium with a capacity of 83,500. The space was built as the main arena for the Sydney Olympics and has continued to be one of Australia’s most prominent major event venues to date.
The multi-use stadium has hosted a variety of high-profile events over the years including the NRL Grand Final, Taylor Swift Era’s tour, Olympic and Paralympic Opening and Closing ceremonies, Rugby World Cup Final, and a FIFA Women’s World Cup Final.

Perth Rectangular Stadium
Perth Rectangular Stadium will host 6 group stage matches on 4 March, 7 March and 9-10 March and 2 quarter-finals on 13-14 March.

Kings Park and Botanic Gardens located in Perth City is one of the largest inner-city parks in the world – surpassing New York’s Central Park.
